I use the brightness slider it works did you look under display in the system settingsCan you confirm if this works in Mojave? I went to the system preference, and the brightness bar is not even there.

Brightness slider doesn't actually dim the backlight just overlays a grey curtain essentially... it'll work on your eyes mostly, but it's not going to help your battery life any.
Agreed... long wait until next Tuesday. Every year I tell myself that I'm not doing the whole beta thing again and yet here I am. One day I'll learn maybe...Thanks for clarifying, that sucks. Can't live without dark mode.
no I don't have a 2018 MacBook Pro well I tried to help hopefully your issue will be fixed in the next betayes, under display in system settings, the bar is not even there for me to adjust the brightness.
Anyways, so you confirm that you have a 2018 new MacBook Pro with the free sun brightness slider app and you can adjust ur brightness?
really gotta confirm cuz I installed Mojave and found the brightness issues, then cannot go back to Sierra and had to erase disk and download Sierra and reinstall everything all over....
Thank you guys for the discussion. look like I have to wait until the next beta to hopefully be resolved. Just have to deal with brightness at 100% all the time and a shorter battery life.
