Mojave Boot Process

Hello,

When I input my password at the login screen in Mojave, a progress bar appears under the field and progresses for about 10 seconds and then boots the desktop. I recall on HS how once I enter my password, it would go right to the desktop. Is this new to the 2018 Mac Mini or is this a T2 issue? Can anyone shed light on this?

I suspect this might be FileVault...? In any event, takes a moment or two to bring up the login environment/desktop. I see this with HS on both a 2009 MP and 2013 MBP, both with SSD, on HS.

Ok, that would make sense as I did not have file vault on HS but the new Mini offers that as a feature of the T2 chip. Thanks for the response.
