I bought an iMac (2017 model) that is running Mojave, and connected my external SSD drive with my photography on it, (drive came out of a MacBook Pro 5,4 late 2009) I will see the drive, but shows no files, please help :)

So you took out the internal drive of the 2009 and put it in an enclosure? Any reason you didn't just transfer the files between the two Macs with the drive in the MacBooK?

What are you using to connect the SSD to the 2017 iMac?
An enclosure, dongle, something else...?

It's possible that might be the source of the problem.

Do you by chance have a DIFFERENT MAC to which you could try to connect the SSD?
If so, does it "show up" on that one?
