Mojave in 2013 retina Mac pro 13

Hi my retina Mac pro 13 is now at El Capitan with regular security updates. It's been 4 1/2 years and it's still fast and working great.
I would like some advice whether it's ok to keep it at an old version of Mac os ? And if I upgrade it to Mojave will it be as smooth as now considering the old hardware?
It's a 4 GB ram model.
