I received a free late-2011 13" MacBook Pro, handed down because "it's gotten really slow, see how you can repurpose it". After swapping in a SSD and a 8gb RAM update kit, I have to say what a FANTASTIC machine!

Anyway, as you know, the latest supported MacOS for this model is High Sierra. Through the dosdude1 patcher I was able to install Mojave.

What is the consensus on the MacOS version for this model? Which would you use? I see a few feature improvements in Mojave (dark mode, but not scheduled) but not that many.

Thanks,

The only "issue" that any of the 13" aluminum unibody MacBooks/Pros (from late 2008 to late 2011) have is that their GPU's don't support Metal. So you are limited only to using apps that still support OpenGL.

With that in mind the OS does not really matter, if I was you I would install Mojave and "leave it there for good".
