Mojave upgrade on 12" Macbook (early 2016)

Only posting this, as before I did my upgrade I searched for a while on this forum and Google and did not find any threads of people doing this exact upgrade. I was slightly nervous upgrading before reading any reviews, so hopefully this may help someone else.

It came time to upgrade the operating system on my roughly 3 year old 12" Macbook (early 2016 model). Specs are here:

1.2 GHz Intel Core m5
8GB 1867 MHz LPDDR3 ram
500GB flash storage
Intel HD Graphics 515 1536 MB
Retina display

Previously had macOS Sierra 10.12.6 for the last 3 years, which worked fine. I was mostly interested in the Group Facetime which only available from MacOS Mojave onwards. Initially I was looking at macOS Catalina but decided against it because it does not support 32 bit programs (and I still have Microsoft Office 2011, which is 32 bit).

However, did the upgrade through app store to macOS Mojave 10.14.6. Very smooth and easy, only took about 45 minutes or so max. Ensure you do have a backup just incase something messes up - I have a Synology NAS with Time Machine and also important folders backed up separately.

Cheers!
