Anything with Metal support, with your best bet being the current generation of Radeons (RX 560/570/580, or Vega 56 or 64).
I’ve read the thread but it only lists 2 cards which aren’t on eBay in Mac format. I see some people using the RX680 and the Radeon 7950. Which is better the NVIDIA or the AMD? Any card that supports metal will work with Mojave? I did find a RX680 but it looks very different from the others I’ve seen. It’s manufactured by MSI. I’ve been out of the computer hardware loop for a long time. I left Windows machines and went iMac back 2007 and now I’m moving to a MacPro mid 2010. So please forgive my ignorance.
RX680? AMD still on RX580. Maybe you're trying to write Nvidia GTX680? Both the eVGA GTX680 for Mac and Sapphire HD7950 for Mac are official cards with EFI/boot screens/FileVault2 support.
You can buy the used PC versions on eBay and flash yourself, it's a lot easier on the GTX680. I have two GTX680 from eVGA, one for Mac and one SC, and one MSI HD7870 flashed with the HD7950 for Mac EFI. I like the GTX680 a little more.
If you don't need a GPU right now, maybe it's better to wait for what's Apple plans with EFI, since they're suggesting RX560/RX580 and none has EFI/boot screens/support for FileVault2.
I just picked up a GTX680 already flashed for Mac and it should arrive a day after my new cMP arrives. Being short on funds right now I just went ahead and purchased the video card instead of getting a cheaper one and then purchasing another one later on down the road.
