Hi,

So I have just updated my cMP 5,1 from El Cap to Mojave last night an everything seemed fine until I installed an app. It was LuLu, a firewall app. It asked me to allow it in preferences > security. I have, and after restart the OS did not boot. Progress bar stuck at 100%. I had to go into recovery mode and restore the system to an older snapshot.

Now, this wouldn't make me write this post, but this thing just happened again with a different app, Vallum. I have to install my GT120 gpu, go into recovery mode and restore in order for the system to boot.

It seems that every time I install an app and authorize it in prefs > security, I can't boot back. I can't believe that both of these were bad kext files, as they are widely used apps. Perhaps because they are both firewall apps and need low level access to the system? In that case I can disable SIP and turn it back on after installing I guess. But, how can I know what's going on? I saw a post about people experiencing this issue after installing LuLu, but nothing with Vallum.

I'm currently afraid to install anything... should I disable SIP? Reinstall Mojave?

Thank you!
R
