Hi all, in need of your vast amounts of knowledge..

My mom recently got an iPad2, her computer is currently broken so she needed to activate it and so she used my computer.

However when plugged in, iTunes was still logged into my account. Nothing was synced, she didnt register, all she did was "Set Up as New Device" and name her iPad.

Will this cause any problems in the future?
Does Apple think the iPad is mine?
When she gets her computer fixed will she have any problems syncing/backing up/restore on her own computer with her own iTunes account?

Thanks in advance!!

Yep, 100 percent fine. No worries. This is like at some stores, including AT&Ts and Verizons, they will just plug one in to get past the activation screen.

However, even if she had synced things, it wouldn't matter once she gets everything from her machine on the device.

"Activation," is a strong term for what you we do when plugging in our iPads the first time. It's not doing anything really but letting you use the device. I don't really understand the purpose or why it can't be good to go out of the box. I guess Apple wants to make sure people do sync them to get content on them and have a better experience.

No harm in checking though, hope you feel better.

Thanks a lot guys! Glad to hear it will be fine.

Guess I was mostly worried because I noticed that it created a backup file in my computer, most likely because she did the "Set Up as New Device" step.

Thanks again!
