If you read any of my other posts, you'll know I'm a fool for buying a lot of cases. I swear every year I won’t, but I just can’t help myself. I have no affiliation with Moment. I have been a big fan of them for years though. They make great videos of products, not only their's. I've always loved their enthusiasm and humor. I've also found them to be honest and very helpful. They have, for example, a great video showing how to setup a folder structure for video productions. I have found this video so useful. So yeah, I am biased in a way. One thing I have to say is the purchase experience at shopmoment.com is great. They have free FedEx 2 day and they ship immediately. When I purchased the case it said purchase within the next 5 minutes to ship today. And sure enough it shipped that day. I'm lucky to live near their distribution center and got it next day.
With that out of the way, I bought and received yesterday their case with MagSafe for the 12 Pro Max. I really really like it. It will definitely be my daily driver, possibly my main case for however long I have the 12 Pro Max. The case is really light. As you can see in the pictures, it isn't the thinnest of cases, but not bulky either. The texture of the sides is sort of grippy, not slippery at all. I say sort of only because I also have a dbrand grip case and that does have more grip to it. The buttons are nice, not too stiff like say the Apple clear case. They are stiffer though then the Apple leather case. I just have used the case for less than a day, so maybe they will loosen up. Just as a point of reference, I have a MagSafe folio wallet from Geometric Goods and when I want to double click the sleep button to make an Apple Pay purchase, if I don’t hold my left hand on the other side, the iPhone slides off the magnet. When I do the same with an Apple leather case, it stays put. I have had a lot of detachable folios over the years and the same thing happens with others, like the Doc Artisan and Mous folios come to mind. The openings, like the mute button and the bottom, are generous. I think the case looks really nice and I like the wood back. In the photos you can see the nice texture of the plastic parts also. I also really like the extra holes for a lanyard or wrist strap. I immediately attached a connector for my DSPTCH wrist strap, which I actually attach to a neck lanyard for my pocket camera. I will now at times attach my iPhone to it when shooting videos or photos.
The MagSafe implementation is terrific. In saying that I am referring to the strength of the magnet. I find it exactly the same as on my Apple leather case. Some of the MagSafe cases I have are weak and for that reason I won’t use them. I don’t want to worry when I place my iPhone on my Belkin 3 in 1 or on a car mount. Moment nailed it and put good magnets in the case.
I can’t think of anything else to say about it. Here are some pics:
