Momentarily freezing & music skipping.

Okay, so i have a macbook with intel running 10.4.10

I'm not that computer savvy so you will have to help me out!

I first noticed it when i was playing music in iTunes.. and the music was jumping and skipping a bit.. then it would go away for a few minutes then happen again.. at the same time, the mouse stops moving and the keyboard doesn't type..

what is causing this?
how can i fix it?


I also run parallels desktop most of the time.
