I'm trying to decide between these three drives.

Based on the only review I can find of the new 750GB Scorpio Black (http://techreport.com/articles.x/20255/3), the drive appears to outperform the hybrid Momentus XT drive. If that's true (i.e. if I'm not misunderstanding the data in that review), then we can scratch the Momentus XT off the list.

This leaves us with question #2. Does anyone know if, given the higher data density in a 1TB notebook drive, can the 1TB Scorpio Blue compete with a 750GB 7200rpm drive like the Scorpio Black?

Thanks!

Momentus XT is the fastest when the file is in its 4GB SSD. Boot times and most frequently used apps will load faster but things that are in the HD will be slower. There have been some issues with the XT though.

750GB Scorpio Black is actually denser than the 1TB as it consists of two 375GB platters while the 1TB is made of three ~333GB platter (thus the 12.5mm height). If you want speed, then Scorpio Black is the way to go.
