Which Aluminum iMac do you have?
If you have one of the 2007-2008 models, you need the mini-DVI to DVI adapter. Apple sells these for about $20.
If you have one of the newer ones that was just released in the last couple months, you need a mini-DisplayPort to DVI adapter.
Well, that's an obscure way of identifying it, but it sort of helps. I have a 2008 iMac (1 generation prior to the new 2009 ones), and mine says it's iMac 8.1, so I'm guessing you have the first gen of Al iMac.
Regardless, the point is that if you didn't buy it in the last 2 months, you've got a mini-DVI port on the back and you need the mini-DVI to DVI adapter. Plus a regular DVI cable of course.
yeah ive had this thing for more than 2 months... more like 6 months...
hello?
Yes, that's what you need.
Chill out! Not everyone is sitting on here every hour at your beck and call! And it's against the rules (or at least etiquette) to bump your thread ("Hello?") when it doesn't contribute to the discussion.
