Monitor Equivalent of MBP Display

I have a MBP from March 2008, and am looking for a monitor to attach too it that will give me the same sharpness and glossiness that I get with the MBP and resolution. I guess the equivalent in a 19" monitor with the same resolution.

Choose the cheapest glossy desktop display. It'll be equivalent - and the chances are high it'll be better.

Apple's notebook displays are - like most consumer laptops - not that great in absolute terms.
