Monitor for MacBook Pro, Xbox and TV?

I'm looking for a monitor around 30" which will be clear enough to use as a monitor for Photoshop work but will also allow Xbox and TV inputs.

Am I right in thinking that a standard TV will be too low-res to use as a monitor?

My budget is around £300.

With 300£, you can only get a monitor with resolution of 1920x1080 so you can buy pretty much any monitor or TV That Samsung is decent
