I just purchased a refubed 1.83Ghz mini from the mac store. I do professional photography and was curious about the display options. I also have a spider 2 calibration system to use on any I get.

I have a friend who has a 20" Apple Cinema Display who would sell it to me for $250. Here is a link to the model http://content.answers.com/main/content/wp/en/thumb/3/31/200px-Blink181State.jpg

I have a couple of questions about it.

I know that the Cinema Displays are extremly high priced compared to other monitors, is there a true reason to justify this? I know the display in question is only 700:1 contrast ratio where say this Samsung has a 3000:1 ratio http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Sams...84555/catOid/-12965/rpem/ccd/productDetail.do
and can be had cheaper.

Is the samsung going to be a better and more accurate colored monitor? Is there something I am missing thats making the Cinema Displays so expensive or better?
