Monitor HDMI connection not working

Can't get an image on my ASUS VK246H monitor using a Moshi mini display port to HDMI adapter hooked up to my MBP 2011. The MBP detects the monitor, however, the monitor just reads no HDMI signal. Monitor HDMI connection worked fine using my HP notebook.

What am I doing wrong? Will appreciate some help. Thanks

Found a Post on HDMI regarding a similar issue on this Web. Advice was to get 1.3 Standard compliant HDMI cable, not the cheap ones. Problem solved.
