Hello, maybe I'm being anxious for nothing. I have Yosemite 10.10.5 installed on an external SSD and Mountain Lion installed on the internal Fusion drive of my late 2012 is 3.2 iMac. When booting with Yosemite, and using Safari or Word 2016, the monitor becomes hotter and overall temperature rises fast to 50C (CPU proximity) so is saying iStats. I never encountered this thing with Mountain Lion before. I was thinking about El Capitan and I wonder if the temperature issue (if it's one) will be resolved. Having used Mountain Lion since I bought my iMac, I can say it ran cool as can be so this is my reference. Thanks for enlightening me on heat issues.
