Does anyone have a solution other than WinACD for turning off the Apple Cinema Display while running windows XP under bootcamp? I have the newer ACD model and WinACD doesn't work with it. I updated the INF files with proper models, the drivers installed fine, but it still doesn't work.
My solution as it stands now, is a macro program called HotkeyP that allows me to bind my f19 key to monitor-power-off.
You can download HotkeyP here : http://sweb.cz/petr.lastovicka/hotkeyp.zip
My problem is, if I turn off the monitor, and anything happens at all in the background, the monitor comes right back on. It's not a permanent thing, but more of a monitor-sleep function. Is there any way to turn the monitor off and keep it off (aside from unplugging it) under windows that doesnt require WinACD. I can't stress enough that I'm not interested in WinACD as it does not work, so please, I know its going to be tempting for you to ignore me and suggest it anyhow, but if you can figure out how, please do not go "did you try WinACD" or "search the forums its called WinACD" or "What kind of windows XP are you running.. maybe you don't know how to use WinACD". I say this because in these forums, all the posts I could find via search, relating to this problem, all said similar things and pointed to a sourceforge app that hasn't been updated since 2005. Not exactly ideal.
