I am looking to get a new 30' monitor do plug my macbook pro into in the near future and am having a hard time deciding what monitor I should purchase.

I do edit photos and use ps and illustrator frequently.
I do on occasion play games on my mbp as well.

I am not worried vary much about a budget.

I have heard that the response times on the apple cinema displays is not very quick and that lag is noticeable.

I am also under the impression that a apple is finally revamping the cinema line and launching it in early 2009.

Any help or recommendations would be awesome.

thank you

From what I've seen, most of the video/graphics pros on the forum tend to look at:
  • Apple Cinema
  • Nec
  • Eizo Nanao

IPS based units tend to fall under these, though I know Eizo's also use PVA panels.
This thread, though a little short, may help get you started. ;)

I've used Nec and Eizo's, and they've always been good to me, especially the Eizo's, but my uses are a little different. CAD/simulation stuff. :D
