I have a MAC G4, 7 years old, today I changed the monitor setting, which I had done many times before, this time I happened to select a resolution that turned the monitor Black (no image). I have no idea how to change the monitor setting back to what it was. I tried all 5 monitors I own, and none light up on the mistaken setting. I did a reboot as follows:
I tried the SHIFT KEY held down restart, and that brought up the desktop to what looks correct, but since it's system 9.2, ALL of the extensions are not enabled, including the monitor controls. So I cannot find where to change the monitor back to what I had before. If I do anything other than a SHIFT restart, I get a black screen, but then I can't do anything on the computer because nothing works with all the extensions disabled. Anyone know how to safeboot and change the monitor resolution so I can see the screen.
