Mac Pro with Radeon X1900 and an Apple 23" DVI LCD screen.

Whenever I restart my computer, the monitor comes on for the grey Apple logo, then the image goes away and the screen stays blank. (The power light on the monitor stays on.)

The ONLY way to fix it is to go behind my computer and unplug the DVI cable and then plug it back in. That fixes it. It NEVER shuts off any other time. Just during restarts.

Also, I don't know if it's related, but I always get 1 and 1/2 startup 'bong' sounds. I get one normal, then it plays it again, but only the second half of the sound.

Could the issues be related? Does anyone know of a fix? I searched but didn't see anything quite like this.
