Hey there friends. Looking for a suggestion for a monitor based on my usages/equipment.

I have a USB-C MacBook Pro. Ideally I'd like the monitor to charge the laptop and connect via USB-C.

I mostly use my laptop for work, everything from email to writing code using Xcode, so I was looking at some ultra-wide monitors as well.

I do digital photography and some editing in Lightroom, but nothing crazy. I don't need perfect color.

Any suggestions? Looking at using the MacBook Pro in clamshell mode or on a stand with the monitor as my main.

Budget is definitely $1,000 or under. $500 is probably a sweet spot.

Maybe 4k as well?

Thank you!

I have an LG 27UL850-W, a 27" 4K/60Hz UHD monitor with a USB Type-C input that also provides power. This monitor supports 10-bit color, sRGB 99% color gamut, VESA displayHDR 400. It is selling for $550 at Amazon right now.

It is currently plugged into my Mac mini 2018 but I have used it with a MacBook Air 2019 the way you have proposed (via USB-C for notebook power). It also works with an Acer Swift 3 notebook PC in the same manner.

It also has one DisplayPort 1.4 connector, two HDMI 2.0 inputs and a built-in speaker. I'm not sure what the functional power delivery is over the USB Type-C port. My guess is around 60W which might not be enough for a full speed charge of your MacBook Pro.

Thanks, I'll take a look at it!
