I looked on mroogle and didn't find anything. Anyone know of a way to do this? I have a WD MyBook 1 TB if that helps.

Monitor temperature of external HDD?

AFAIK, most external HDs have no heat sensor/thermometer so it's impossible, unless you install your own thermometer
