I've been searching through the forums and have found posts on this topic in general and I've come to the conclusion that using SNMP is my solution, but finding software that does what I need seems to be what evades me.
I need to be able to monitor the actual traffic passing through my AirPort Extreme, assuming that this is even possible. I'm not interested in the amount of bandwidth being used in a given amount of time- instead, I need to know if a device on the network is connecting (or trying to connect) to a specific domain/IP address on a specific port. What software is available that will allow me to do this? Most of what I'm seeing is dated information that doesn't apply to the current OS X.
To give some info into my issue- I posted another recent thread inquiring about this but I think it was unclear and didn't receive much attention. My website host has been blocking my home IP on a weekly basis for several weeks, claiming that it's because they're receiving over 100 connections from me on port 80. This is really all the information they give me, claiming it appears to be browser traffic, thus being on port 80. I know for a fact that I'm not loading my own site even twice a week, so they suggested maybe I have a virus/trojan. I've run scans and made sure all software is up to date on the computers on my network (there are a few PCs on it as well) and yet I was still blocked once again this week. I really need to be absolutely certain that this supposed traffic is not coming from my network so I can get to the bottom of this, but I can't seem to find anything outside of just monitoring the local activity on an individual device basis.
