Monitors for MacBooks with classic capabilities

I have a macbook and I just bought Starcraft because that game is awesome. The only problem is that since it's an older game it only runs on a 256 color setting which my macbook monitor doesn't have. Is there a way to switch the color settings to 256 or is there a monitor I can get that's compatible with a macbook with this setting.
