good to know it works. Another downside, without having the charging ability, is no clamshell mode.

means with the hub+ and Female DisplayPort to Male Mini DP adaptor you can connect to the Apple cinema display?

- Provided you put in the above "Mini", then yes. But that's really a waste of cable. The LED Cinema Display has a male Mini DisplayPort cable which will plug directly into the Hub+.

I wish Apple had decided to make a multiport adapter with mini Displayport. Then I could use my mdp-vga and my mdp-hdmi...

good to know but if you're going to pay shipping on top of nearly half the cost of the apple usb-c digital av, i'd rather go that route and did.

got a 4 port usb3 hub and power going as well. good times

got a black usb-c to usb cable coming from moonrise though that looks nicer than the apple one

I already have a USB 3.0 male to USB-C cable, would it work like this?:

Macbook---USB-C to USB 3.0 cable---USB 3.0 female to miniDisplayport female---miniDisplayPort to VGA or to HDMI?

In this way I would only need to buy a USB 3.0 female to miniDisplayport female.

Problem is that USB-C Digital AV wouldn't have helped me in my situation - 27" iMac doesn't take HDMI in. Plus, like you said - (more than) double the cost. I used a $5 off Coupon MonoPrice had for Mother's Day.
