I just picked this up, much louder then the DLO Transpod, but also had static.

Don't trust Monster cable. You're paying for a name that isn't a superior product whatsoever. One of my old bosses once saw one of their not-yet-marketed amps at the factory explode while on demonstration. They're cabels aren't always compatible, either.

Remember they're PS-2 cables? Yeah, NONE OF THEM WORKED. I installed about 150 PS-2's into people's home theaters and none of them worked with MonsterCable.

I wouldn't say they're all bad...I've never had a bad Monster product. Sure there's better products out there than Monster, but compared to the crap that comes with most audio/video products, they're definitely superior.

RE: Monster iCarPlay Wireless

I bought a new iPod Mini on Monday at an Apple store in Boston. One of the sales staff recommended the iCarPlay, so I picked up one of those too.

By Wednesday (last night) after work, the iCarPlay has stopped working! After plugging in the iPod, the LCD display did not show any radio stations which meant that it wasn't broadcasting. What's worse, when the iPod was plugged in, a small discoloration (like a burn in the LCD of the iPod) appeared in the upper right-hand color of the iPod screen, just to the right of the battery status icon. I thought this was an artifact of a burned out iCarPlay transmitter or something, so didn't think too much about it at the time.

I called Monster customer service & the staff people I spoke to were very helpful. They recommended that I go back to the Apple store and exchange it, which is what I did. The Apple salestaff gave me no fuss for the exchange, either.

So this morning on the drive into work, I hooked up the replacement iCarPlay and iPod and everything seemed hunky dory. But when I got to work, I noticed that the discoloration was back on the screen. A few minutes after unplugging the iCarPlay, the discoloration went away!

Has anyone anyone else experienced the iCarPlay causing a weird discoloration on the iPodScreen?

Go to Rev3 and learn how to make audio/video cables that are as good if not better that the Monster cables. Download Systm Episode 3, it's 40 minutes long and very detailed.
