I have a philips USB-C docking Monitor and like many others, the usb A ports only seem to work at usb 2 speeds since upgrading to Monterey. Video and Ethernet work fine, as do keyboard and mouse (Ethernet did not work in 12.0, but seems to have been fixed along the way).

I have 2 devices (Logitech headset and Logitech webcam) that now only work if connected directly to my Mac with a USB-C to A converter. This is a big pain and I would like to get another hub, but I need to know it will work 100% with Monterey.

I saw a comment about 'apple certified hubs'. Is there a list of these somewhere?

I've looked through these forums, but largely it seems what works for one person doesn't work for another.

How can I get a hub I know will work? If I go for a big name brand, is that a guarantee of success? I was looking at the "Belkin 4 Port USB-C Travel Hub", but If it has the same problems it will be a waste of money.

Thanks.

It might help if you disclose your Mac model.

However, I'd say you should probably get a powered hub. The Belkin you referenced relies on the power given it by the computer itself…which commonly causes issues for devices that need power from the USB connection. Something like a printer probably wouldn't be an issue but the headset and webcam need USB bus power.

Sorry, it's a MacBook Pro 13-inch, 2020.

A powered hub wasn't needed for these in big Sur. I'm not opposed to getting a powered hub, but I still want to know it's going to work with Monterey. The USB 3 ports in my monitor are part of a powered hub, but they don't work for this.
