It's a new processor platform that intel keeps delaying. It will be here eventually, and it will find its way into Macs soon after.

I've heard everything from July 14th to October, and it's getting really irritating I can't decide what to do (buy now w/ B2S sale or wait for montevina).../sigh

:(

if you are buying a MB not MBP, wait for Montevina is worth for speed as X4500 is better than X3100

If it is MBP go for it now

i'm in the same boat aswell.... I can purchase one at the end of july, but i don't know if i should. I absolutely HATE the macbook air design and if it were transfered to the MBP id hate it. On the other hand, i wouldn't mind the performance gain.

My mini just isnt cutting it anymore, just out of interest i decided to render something very simple in after effects and it took me 1h23m.

Any advice? also i wouldn't mind playing a game or two... and i'd get the 15"

EDIT: i just posted this in the wrong topic, but im open to your opinions anyway, thanks.

Doesn't apply to me as I already got my MBP a month ago, but I'm curious as to the reason behind this comment? (Not challenging you, I just don't know why you say it...?)

im waiting for the montevina
we're also expecting blu-ray players
hopefully a 1920x1200 resolution for the 15.4 inch!

Blu-Ray is not going to happen, it the general consensus and the truth as it uses way too much power for apple to even consider it, not to mention size.

That high of a resolution on a 15" screen would be brutal, i wouldn't be able to see anything without pumping the font size up.

idk alot of laptops already have it (pc laptops)
and knowing that i can always increase my dock size or text size in safari
id be able to have alot more stuff open at one time
maybe a 1680x1050 would be nice then
personally, i wouldnt even want the blu-ray player though
id rather dl the movie and watch it on my beauty then listen to the optical drive spin away

I agree with everything you said there....
