My family is all on the same AT&T plan and I want to join them (they don't have smartphones though). If I need the 2GB of data and unlimited messaging, how much extra will that tack onto their bill, if the minutes and everything stay the same? I will be paying my portion of the bill, by the way.

We have unlimited messaging for 30 total for everyone on the family plan (5 phones) - then the phone is 9.99 plus the 25 data charge

There are also all sorts of miscellaneous regulatory fees that will add a few dollars to the cost. Unlimited messaging is also an additional fee.

I believe they already have unlimited messaging on the plan. Unless they charge more for it because it's an iPhone?

I think that would be correct and the add charges would be easy if the bill is normally the same each month just subtract the new amount and you have it. I wouldnt think it would be over 40 bucks more a month.

If you want to add a new line to a family plan, it is going to cost roughly $10 ($9.99) and then if you want the 2GB data plan it'll be an additional $25. If you want unlimited messaging for every line on the plan (the entire family) it would be $30 for that, coming out to a total of $65/month. If you just wanted unlimited messaging to yourself, i think (but not exactly sure) that it is $20, so it would be a total of around $55 (plus some odd taxes)

On our family plan, we pay $15 for each additional iphone. With reg fees and taxes it comes to just over $19 each.
