must have a strong stand , be able to be hooked up to my mac

Those are fine. Be sure if you're looking at anything higher than 1920x1080 resolution (like that Asus) that it does have DisplayPort input on it - the Asus does so it's fine - there are some inexpensive high-res monitors that only have DVI, and that ends up costing you another $99 for the dual-link converter.
 
I know the ATD is a bit old now but i think its still the best one out there for a mac.
 
Those IPS monitors are the bomb; same as an iMac. I think PLS is the same but not sure. Really good bang for the buck; I got one at Monoprice cheap (but I don't have to use an adapter since I'm running it off a card that supports it).
