I've noticed that when I travel with the Mophie, the battery drains incredibly quickly even when I'm not doing anything on the phone. Today was really ridiculous. I went to dinner with around 30% battery, left after 3 hours and my phone was dead!

I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this problem. I speculate it's because the case is interfering with reception and causing the iPhone to have to transmit with higher power. But who really knows?

If you iPhone is lasting for 3 hours on 30%, that is great battery life. Combine it with the Mophie, you get even more:)
You are not having any problems. My iPhone lasts for about 5 hours a day. Apple says it passed their battery test at the store.

My wife noticed the same thing. The battery is not engaged on the case, but her she is noticing her iPhone battery not lasting anywhere near as long as she had before she used the battery case.

30% idling? I didn't use the phone at all because I was talking with friends instead of fiddling with my phone. Maybe I should have made that more clear.

OK so just tooling around in the Field Test mode for iOS I see significant attenuation caused by the case.

Receive power gets worse by 10db with the case on ... aka about 1/8th the signal. Don't think this would affect battery life tho.

Transmit power gets worse by 6-8db ... around 4x to 8x the transmit power required. Not terrible indoors right next to a cell station but traveling or outdoors I guess this could kill your battery life.

Rubber bumper made no significant difference.

I am returning the air tomorrow. Really displeased with how ineffective it is. Phone battery was at 60 so I turned on the air and it went from 4 lights to 1 within an hour. Not worth the money IMO

Had the 5s and mophie since November. Been all over the country with it and have not noticed any issues in battery drainage.

As advertised the juice pack provides almost one full charge.

It's less the issue of the charge it provides than the fact that I seem to need more charge with the case on. If it drains my battery quickly it's not nearly as good as it would appear on the surface.

Today I was not in a good reception area in NYC for Verizon, LTE going in and out. So I left it on 3G. Charged before I left the house, when I returned home I had about 80% after a day of use; for email/phone calls and imessage.

That's why I'm saying I am not having an issue. The comment about the charging was an FYI. Generally I'm in a strong signal area so I may not notice this to the extent you do.
