For those that own a Mophie JuicePack.

There are 2 ways to use a Mophie-
1. ON. Mophie battery runs down first, iPhone stays at 100%
2. OFF. iPhone battery runs down first. Turn on Mophie when needed.

Do you leave it ON or OFF when starting out the day?

I think the first way is better because the iphone battery gets less charge cycles on light usage days. And the mophie only has to maintain 100% which is easier than recharging while depleted.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_2 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8H7 Safari/6533.18.5)

It actually doesn't matter because the phone doesn't count partial charges as a full cycle. So charge it as much as you need.

I've used both approaches. A friend recently cautioned me to let the phone go below 50% from time to time...but didn't elaborate as to why.

I must admit I like looking at the "charged" symbol all day.

Either way, I love the Mophie.

I use it the second way in case I ever need it for emergencies. But I have used it both ways, I just prefer the second way. I find the iPhone gets really hot when it's constantly being charged.

I want to use my iPhone as a hand-me-down for my kid. Thus I am trying to protect the battery of the iPhone by using the JPA battery first every day. I have reminders set to recycle the iPhone battery at the intervals recommended by Apple.

I know, I know ... so OCD.
