Mophie question

I am trying to charge the mophie after first use (rundown). I used a generic cord at first and it seemed to be taking a long time (and only one light blinked). I then plugged in the supplied cord and the second light started to blink. Is anyone using a generic USB cable?

I have the mophie juice pack plus. I dont think the cords matter. I used my old phones cord because it was longer and compared it to using with the mophie cord. THere's no real difference minus the fact that the mophie cord fits better. I also read online that charging usually takes awhile and isn't super fast.
