Is Apple having issues getting the more advanced Siri Intelligence working due to 8GB Ram on current models, and if that is the case, with the rumor of the 17 Pro’s having 12gb specifically to run larger A.I models directly on the phone, I’m wondering if Apple will limit the more advanced Siri features to the new 17 Pro lineup.

I’m specifically talking about the Personal Context Siri and On-Screen awareness features that Apple is having issues with, and apparently have issues due to being larger A.I models running directly on the device, which require large amounts of RAM.

If that were the case though, I’d imagine there will be a huge backlash against leaving the “Ready for Apple Intelligence” iPhone 16 lineup behind for future advanced A.I features.

Considering they take a few years to design the phones, I don’t think Apple saw the 8GB as a limit when the A.I storm came.

Thoughts?

I'm sure there are more challenging problems with their AI rollout than the RAM limit they just set the other year. They increased the RAM for this purpose only.

I'll just copy and paste what I said in another thread:

I don't see them making anything major like Siri features exclusive to the 17 Pro in iOS 19. They have the whole 16 series, 15 Pro and many Macs and iPads that don't have 12GB to work with, not to mention the iPhone 17 and 17 Air or whatever it'll be called.

It would also work against them in any legal dispute regarding the 16 being marketed as built for AI.
