Is it just me? I feel like once a week or more I have to copy and paste a URL into Chrome because the developer either A) didn't test with safari or B) tested, saw it was broken, and didn't care. Examples include unnecessary reloading of videos Discovery+, inability to sign something on Docusign, inability to watch a video on Deadline.com, etc.

Maybe I'm just having bad luck with the sites I visit. But as much as I like safari's ecosystem integration, it makes me want to switch.

Just you :) Turn off your adblocker.

I use this to my advantage when making websites. If your site works in Safari, it's guaranteed to work in everything else!
But seriously though, I don't experience this. And I use safari literally for everything.

You guys were right! I had disabled the adblocker but it must have been cached in its buggy form. After a safari restart, it worked as desired. At least on Deadline.

this afternoon I tried watching a Peter Gabriel Video of him in a large sphere
the footage was blocked, I revived a notice of deceit and warnings and the vid would not play.
seems to me the local news stations are unwatchable as well without using non-private web browsing.

score one for them s!

Any recommendations?
The paid AdGuard version has been my preferred for years and with YT’s recent change it doesn’t affect it because the paid version is on your device vs a browser extension. My spouse had the browser extension and YT caught that immediately so I removed the extension and installed the paid version which worked. Additionally, the on device/paid version works for all browsers you install so you’ll never need to install an extension. People always compare uBlock Origin to Adguard but if you look at uBlocks filters they have Adguard ones as well so both blockers seemingly help each other.

Additionally you get an Adguard lifetime license on sale for like $30 USD that supports 10 machines including the iOS version. Hopefully this doesn’t sound like an ad read but not a lot of adblockers that have an on device software solution for desktop and mobile.

I use an adblocker, (and have no intention of ever disabling it), - and have used it for years - but must concede that I have also experienced (in recent times) the issue that @numenorian has described in his, or her, OP.

Thank you both, @Pecka, and @Sheepish-Lord for your recommendations; much appreciated.

I will look into these suggestions.

A suggestion for the OP, (and one I must remember to do for myself): Empty your caches, as that will sometimes help with such issues.
