More apps touch-id enabled (like Mail app)?

Man I wish I can use the native Mail app for the features it brings. But I cannot sacrifice privacy over those.

I have to be using Outlook for its touchid feature..

Any hope for this on iOS 11?

Well there are much less reason to give the keys to your kids than to lend your phone to someone.

Apple already allows TouchID for Notes app and many other apps use it to have another layer of privacy. Why not add one for Mail app?

People pass their phones around showing pictures or videos in one app or another, for one thing.

This all seems like over complication when you could just use Guided Access when you pass someone your phone to use a particular app. TouchID to unlock your phone then touchID to unlock an app is adding a pointless step (yes; some apps force additional passcode/touchID usage like your bank and obviously yes this makes sense - everything else, not so much).

Seems like needing to remember to go an enable Guided Access, and perhaps configure it in some fashion, wouldn't exactly be simpler than just being able to hand over the device and not worry that certain things that you might not want someone to access won't be accessible.

I also think it would be good to have integration with other apps, and also have that carry over to MacOS

I dont understand why they do not just simply add a toggle for each app in the settings. I would really love to protect my photos app or even folders within among a few other apps. No need to implement it one by one like notes

3 presses of the home button is hard to remember?

Assuming you have that shortcut set up. But, relatively speaking, 3 presses of a button is 3 more than no presses at all.
