Is there some application that'll offer more control over the apple remote?

For example... I'd like to set up a few things with it...

1.) If EyeTV is running, iTunes should completely ignore the button presses. I don't care if EyeTV is the active application or not.

2.) EyeTV should start up when I hit the menu button, not Front Row. (Or better still... pressing the menu button should start EyeTV but holding it should start Front Row.)

... actually, I think that's everything.

I second the remote buddy, you can customize key strokes for any button (different keys for short and long press on the remote also)
I've been using it for at least a year and it's great.

although i think it only recognizes the front application, but you can activate a program and bring it to the front from the remote.

You can browse files, move the mouse, type on an onscreen keyboard, plus control most any program you want, most of the major ones are pre-programed, but you can adjust to meet your needs.

Plus it comes with a great web based remote that's designed for the iPhone/ iPod touch.

... what's the cost in US$?

I don't have any Euros... (I assume that's what the E with lines is...)
