The iTunes UK Store now has a page listing all the shows that have HD versions - http://itunes.apple.com/WebObjects/MZStore.woa/wa/viewRoom?fcId=303111723&id=25107 there are not many of them (6 different shows), but at least it's more than Lost Season 5. They are still pretty expensive though - Ugly Betty Season 2 in HD costs twice as much as it costs on Amazon on DVD. It looks like they are at least expanding the selection though and won't just leave it at Lost.

and its not even real HD either, it's only half a$$ed HD (720p - BOO) not much higher res than an anamorphic R2 DVD (1024x576 vs 1280x720)
I aint buyin any so called HD stuff from iTunes until its actually in HD (FULLHD 1080p)

To be fair, a PAL DVD isn't really 1024x576 but 720x576 strechted to 1024x576. So the amount of details preserved is that that can be preserved in 720 columns.
