So i was really sick of most of my music so i decided to get rid of it all. Then when i went to add new music it said i didn't have the startup CD or something so i reset it to factory settings. Now it pops up on the desktop as an external drive display (as opposed to the ipod display) and iTunes isn't reading it...Someone help please.

Weird. Okay, maybe try using Disk Utility to reformat it as FAT32 and then get iTunes to reformat it again as an iPod. I can't think how you'd need the CD to sync music though.
