Rather a dumb question so, sorry about that, I am pretty sure I know the answer is most likely not going to be the one I want to hear.

I am currently grandfathered into the unlimited data plans. If I transfer an upgrade to my line from another line on my plan (it is do-able) would I lose the grandfathered data plan because I would need to sign a new 2 year contract?

I just spoke to Big Red about the grandfathered unlimited data stuff. The ONLY way you lose that unlimited goodness is if you downgrade to a dumb phone without data, then upgrade back to a smart phone that requires it.

So no, signing a new 2 year contract won't make you lose unlimited data.

I did this for pre-order, and was still grandfathered in.

Thanks to the both of you! Much appreciated.
