more sync issues

My Notes will sync from my iPhone to Mac OSX Mail, however calendar entries won't sync from iPhone to Mac iCal.

Items from Notes written on OSX mail will not sync to iPhone Notes, but calendar entries from iCal will go to iPhone.

I'm really confused.

Thanks for any advice.
