Mr Jobs has given me another reason to buy a 13" MBP - 10 hours battery is very compelling. There are lots of threads discussing the speed and durability of SSDs over Serial ATA drives, but does anyone know of any figures for the improvements I might see in battery life if I pay for a supposedly less power hungry SSD? 12 hours? 14 hours? Forever??

An SSD will increase speed, boot up time, battery life (by about an hour or less) and make your MBP more quiet.

please do not get his hopes up. it will not increase battery life anywhere near an hour. the battery savings is negligible. get a ssd if you care about performance and noise

Yep, that sounds about right from my experience as well.

I buy Intel 160GB G2s for less than $500 and install them myself. Fastest drive on the market and Intel intends to keep that lead over the coming years.
