My friend is having this problem, Can anyone please help?

Here's the problem:

Background info: I'm on a PC with iTunes 6. I just made the mistake of allowing iTunes to organize my music folder and as a consequence more than half of my songs have lost their complete track names. Is there anyway to undo this mistake?

are you referring to, when you browse through windows explorer, some of the file names have been truncated? the id3 tags are still the same, itunes just truncates file names to a certain length.

Thanks for such a quick response. The track title in Windows Explorer and in
my iTunes has been reduced. My next question is, how can I return the id3
tags back to their original length in iTunes and Windows Explorer. Thanks
for your help.

i have my (itunes for windows) set to organize my file, and it truncates the filenames but leaves my tags alone...odd
