I had my office purchase this device that has a review with several responses on this site. Most potential users complained about the cost but the review emphasized how well this would work with travel. I just arrived at an international destination and am too tired to go searching for all the relevant links.
I tested this strip before leaving home and everything seemed to work well. During the middle of the night last night, I could charge my iW7 and Air Pods Pro, but not my iP13 Pro. I always carry a back up cable (USA-A to lightning) so that got me through the night as I had to catch a train from the airport.
Once in my hotel, I plugged everything back up and again the iPhone was not charging. I had brought with me an Apple USB-C cable with the normal iP13 Pro electrical plug with me so I switched from the Mophie cable and plug that came with the strip and suddenly now my iPhone was charging again. I finally remembered that is how I tested it at home because the Apple cable was convenient for the test.
My question is why does Mophie make and Apple sell a strip where the included Mophie cable and plug does not charge an iP13 Pro?
This is beyond frustrating, however I will add that future trips would see me leave behind that bag of cables and plugs I have been carrying since I have so many Apple devices. And while the iW7 does not get a ‘fast charge’, I found that not to be an issue in the first 48 hours of this international trip.
