New web browser with a recent WebKit base? Niiiiice, wish that could happen on PPC Linux and OS X. I wish I could just be arsed to buy a license for morphOS... but the hardest part is to decide what system I'll put it on?

There are current webkit browsers for ppc linux, at least on void linux anyway. There's eolie and epiphany for sure, but for whatever reason webkit based browsers on ppc linux are dog slow. Mozilla based browsers run circles around them, which is the opposite on ppc os x oddly. Even wayfarer on morphos is slow-ish. Slower than leopard webkit, or OWB, but it does work with modern sites.

Cheers

Wicknix, sounds like Linux is our future if PPC is to survive based on what you said above, problem is I can't decide on a good distro for my Titanium and or DLSD.. I might put Linux on the G4 550 Pismo also to see how that runs.

I just installed 3.1.6 to give it another go, only just tried 3.1.5 last weekend, kept freezing alot just poking around to see what was what, tried installing chrysalis, reported not all was installed properly? I couldnt figure out where downloaded files where going even after using search function, not very intuitive. OS9 1, morphOS 0 lol

Once they state G5 Quad and dual core G5 can be used, then I will consider it.. As of now, I will use Sorbet Leopard. Sad, that Amiga and our community of PPC macs don't unite so that AmigaOS can run on our machines, though PowerPC also. They have a modern web browser and everything else.

This is the one I finally bought. I’m really having fun with it. It also has proper dual monitor support now.
  • Reimplemented handling of monitors with multiple outputs, enabling mouse movement between displays
