Hi,

I have a MacBook Pro running OS 10.6.6. Lately, when I try to set up Mosaic to be my screen saver in System Preferences, I see the progress bar saying it's setting up the database...and then it always crashes. I've tried everything; updating iLife, trashing my preferences file, selecting a folder with not so many photos to choose from...Nothing works!

I love Mosaic and think it's one of the best screen savers ever. Why does it keep crashing and what can I do to fix it??

Thanks all!

After a quick MRoogle search, I found that it is possible to make a workaround in moving the photos folder and initially reducing the number of photos in the folder to start, more in this thread:

Problem with Mosaic Screensaver

There also seems to be a solution in this thread at this post by greggsewell:

Mosiac Screensaver question

1. Collect the pictures you want into a folder. Copy from iPhoto or wherever.

2. Make note of where the folder is saved.

3. Select Apple menu > System Preferences.

4. Click the Desktop & Screen Saver icon.

5. Click the Screen Saver tab.

6. Scroll to Choose Folder...

7. Click this item in the Screen Savers list.

8. Navigate to the folder of pictures you created.

9. Click the folder once in the open dialog.

10. Click the Choose button.

Hope this helps.

Enjoy.
