OK reading the reviews im convinced - just wondering are they a standard size?

What do you mean by "standard size"? But you can purchase them for Mac computers.

I have one on my 13" Macbook Pro and really like it because it's so thin. One note though, they fog or get milky pretty quickly from the underside. So frequent cleaning is necessary. But remember it's made out of vinyl not silicone, so be careful folding it or you will get permanent creases.
