The magnets won't cause any issues but beware that the Muse fits the 13" macbook pro, so it will be baggy on the macbook air.

The Air uses flash memory, not a hard drive. As such, magnets will not affect it, just like magnets won't affect the performance of an iPad.

No it won't. I was even using it with my Pro and nothing detrimental had happened.

You'd need very strong magnets (think woofer magnet or electromagnet) to affect data on a hard drive through a laptop case.
